Hi, my name is Kate Mazade, and I am a writer, designer, artist and traveler, exploring the connections between architecture and community. I currently serve as a Senior City Editor at FTWtoday, a branch of 6AM City, and as the design critic for Madame Architect. I just published my first book, Dearest Babe, Letters from a World War II Flight Surgeon, co-authored with my mom, Kelly Mazade.
I hold a Bachelor of Architecture from Auburn University and a masters degree from the Goldring Arts Journalism program at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. My passion for people-centered projects has prompted travels through North America, Europe, Africa and Asia that have helped me understand how geography, climate and culture influence architecture.
My work has been featured in Architectural Record, American Theatre, Madame Architect, Dezeen, Metropolis Magazine, The Architect’s Newspaper, AN Interior, the Syracuse Post-Standard, and the Charleston Post and Courier.
